CALUROSOS Y SOLEADOS SALUDOS DESDE LIMA!!!!!!

Hola family and amigos!

Sabroso Curry!!!

The sun is still burning us up, and so is the spirit!

This week we had the special opportunity to see the world wide missionary broadcast on wednesday! It was great to recieve guidance from our living apostles. The put a great focus on returning to the basics, a focusing on Preach my Gospel, which is something my companion and I are working to put in practice into our area as soon as possible.

My companions health took a toll for a couple of days, but through rest and talking through some problems we were both able to work through it. I pray for her everyday. She also got a mean case of lice this week, which ment Hna Mostert became Hna Mostert Hairstylist, as I had to cut about 6inches of her lovely black locks off. But all is good we are both lice free!

This week we walked and walked. Many of our lessons fell through, but we werent discourage! When Sunday came everything just seemed to fall into place. We, alongside our investigators, were able to feel the spirit through the sacrament. Then in the afternoon we were able to find Daniela, the niece of an active member in our ward, and have lessons with Miguel, Daniel and Wilmer. We were able to see a recent convert family, Familia Marcos, Whom are preparing to be sealed in the temple, Accompany us in a lesson with Miguel and Lydia, and testify of the gospel and future temple blessings in their lives. we were also able to see the 1st consouler to the bishop befriend our investigator Wilmer and even have him over for lunch at his house! Wilmer is progressing alot and on a clear path to his baptism next month! We are working our hardest but know there is alot of room to improve, we pray daily for guidance.

Anyways all else is well!

DESDE EL SOLEADO PERU

ESCALERAS A SU DEPARTAMENTO

LEYENDO SUS E-MAILS EN P-DAY

BUENAS TARDES AMIGOS AND FAMILY!!

I guess El Niño has left the building and the full furry of summer is upon us. The Sun is hot, and being in the city, the ozone layer is severly depleted and we have no protection from the sun. The members always offer us hats, but we have a strict rule in our mission against them, becuase wed be confused with all the Jehovas Witnesses haha. Do not fear! We have sunscreen and we find shade one way or another!

ESCALERAS AL CIELO!!

Twas another great week here in Bolognesi. We walked, and walked and walked. But we also talked and talked and talked with everyone; the man with the fruitstand, everyones mother, father, and cousin. I was personally able to push aside alot of my fears this week, and though our lesson numbers were slim, I know that this was one of the weeks I have learned the most in. This week we were also able, after weeks of searching, able to find a family! They are Familia Baca, the neighbors of our wards Family History Consultant. She was accompanying us and when all our lessons and backup plans fell through she told us she had a family come to her mind all of a sudden. I know that was the spirit leading us and then us to this family. They are married! And all so cheerful and receptive to the message. The husband Alex, seems to have more doubts than his wife or daughter, but they are all very willing to learn more through prayer and reading the book of mormon. Anyways this week we were able to see Felicitas confirmation. She has been sick since her baptism but was able to recieve the holy ghost this week and I can now testify that I know baptism is only half, and not complete without the gift of the holy ghost. So that was our week, long, tiring, yet amazing at the same time.

Love you all! Keep me up on your live and remember I too enjoy pictures! de01

BAUTIZO DE LA HERMANA FELICITA!!!

HERMANA FELICITA!!

So there were transfers this week and the news is.. Im still in Bolognesi with Hermana Linares!!! Wooo, its kinda strange because this is the first companion in over seven months here in the mission that ill be with for more than on transfer. But were both excited to still be together and were ready to work harder than ever before!

HERMANA FELICITA Y SU FAMILIA!!
This was another great week. Summer is finally upon us, and the sun is HOT. I think with el Niño (the boy as my companion and I call it), the weather is even more extreme. There are like 5 trees in our area, so needless to say we are both getting darker. Yes, we are flying through bottles of sunscreen and are drinking lots of lots of water. Nevertheless the work continues!

This week we were able to have the baptism of our investigator Felicita. She has been on and off with her health the last couple weeks. And though she didnt feel that well the day of her baptism, she mustered all her strength and made it. It was one of the happiest moments Ive had in the mission so far, to be able to see someone who has had so many trials finally reach baptism. The service was beautiful, with her children (many whom are members) sharing talks and a special musical numbers that brought almost everyone to tears ( the hymn was the favorite of Felicitas husband who passed away 2 years ago). Then Felcita was able to bear the sweetest testimony. It was an unforgettable day.

This week we were also able to find Luisa and Jose, mother and son whom had come to mind to a member, Rosio, who was accompanying us. All of our lesson and backup plans had fallen through and she said if it was alright if she could take us to visit some family members of a less active member. They are both so nice, receptive, and hilarious aswell. They also accepted our invitation to read, pray and attend church with us. My companion and I are both excited to see them begin to witness many of the blessings of the gospel.
A big hug to all yall!

NEW YEAR IN BOLOGNESI!!!!!

 EN EL CERRO DE CHORILLOS

Happy New Year Familia and Friends!

May I start out by saying that not even 4th of July comes into comparison with New Years Fireworks in Lima. IT WAS INSANE. And really loud and pretty.

BAUTIZO DE  GIANELLO

Anyways this week was difficult in the fact that we walked a lot, because of the holiday week lots of people left on trips last minute or were busy. Nevertheless we were still able to see a lot of miracles as the few lessons we had were full of the spirit. THis week after about 3 weeks of not being able to find her, we were able to find Karen, who came to church with us this Sunday ans accepted a baptismal date for the 23rd of this month.
Saturday Gianello got baptized!! His extended family came from far away too and the service was great. He was able to bear a simple but powerful testimony and how he cant wait to be sealed with his family soon.
This Saturday we have Felicitas baptism, which the whole ward is helping us so that it is something special. Felicita is beyond excited, she even bore her testimony yesterday.

EL CRISTO DE CHORILLOS
