TESORO EN ICA!!!!

HALLO Familia e friends.

I shall start my letter today with a tiny miracle we saw from street contacting. I mean every street contact is a miracle to me, because who wouldve thought that so many people would let 2 random mormon missionaries come up and talk to them on the street all of a sudden and then give them their address and phone number. Well this week we street contacted a lady named Primitiva. She was very nice, though was very straight forward at sharing that she she super catholic (catolica apostolica) and that she didnt want us to teach her. But it turned out that the missionary had lived at her house years ago. And like 13 years ago they church delivered a box to her house, but the missionaries had already moved so she kept it. She tooks us to her house and gave it to us and inside of this spider crawling, dust covered box where 40 intact  books of mormon in perfect condition!! What a crazy world.....so now we have a lot of books of mormon, or mormon bibles as little Primitiva called them. 

This was a good weak as our investigator Jenny, whose getting baptized on the 9th has been progressing alot. But also difficult on the side that we struggled to find investigators, but we were able to see miracles thorugh planining and perserviring. THwe lord is so merciful and blesses us daily.

The sun is bright in Ica and the work continues to march forward. This was a good week. We proved satan that he could attack from every angle but we were there to fight back with dilligence and planning. Our investigators with baptismal dates all had family problems this week and we had many of our origanly scheduled lessons with them fall through. BUt we were still able to find them! Wooooooo even though it did mean having them as backup plans and stopping by their house and calling them in any free minute. But two of our investigatores with baptismal dates, jenny and gino were in the end able to make it to the chapel! wooo.  This week we were also able to find two families! Well able to complete 2 families thorugh find 2 non member husbands of less active sisters. Theres the moment I do l,ove alot in the mission, when a father prays with his wife and children all around him for the first time. The spirit is always so strong and testifies to me that really the gospel blesses FAMILIES. Families are forever, Ive never know is with so much surety. The gospel is incredible and really what a blessing it is to see it change lives everyday. I know that this is the work of the Lord and that we are only called as miniscule instruments to labor, He is the one that performs the miracles and causes conversion. He is my savior, and I love Him for all the tender mercies he allowed me to be a witness of.

JUEVES DE LIMPIEZA PROFUNDA EN ICA!!!

In our area  this week we were able to see great miracles as many members were willing to accompany us and give us refferals of their friends. In particular theres one lesson that stands out. On Tuesday we went to visit our investigator whose getting baptized in a few weeks, Jenny, and a couple from our ward, Jorge and Marlene accompanied us. They really made her feel so welcomed, and it was like instantly they were best frineds and had know each other for a long time. They were also able to realte to her well, sharing their similar experiences as converts and doubts. It really made teaching the plan of salvation less of a lesson, and more of just a connection of doctrine to her needs. Really there is a great difference when the members and us missionaries work together and teach together. The spirit testifies and really lasting friendships and bonds are formed between members and investigators. My favorite part at the end of the lesson was that the brother ended up gifting his hymn book to hermana jenny, it really was a touching moment and a remarkable lesson. 

This week are transfer. Hna Lawrence and I are pretty sure well stay together but well see. Theres alot of work to keep up in San Isidro!

AGOSTO EN ICA!!!!!

Hello familia y amigos.

Its is strange once again to me that August is winter and the coldest month here. The sun is HOT and the nights are freezing. Thats the weather in Ica in a nutshell.

 Anyways this week was difficult in the sense that we had to find a way to work around not being in our area 2 whole days. But neverthe less we were able to see many miracles and tender mercies. We were able to find a new family this week, from the referral of a less active member. Theyre Walter and Ruth, and they know our bishop and are just full of energy and curiosity for the gospel. We also found jenny, a sister who is the friend of a member, who had been to church a bunch of times but we could never find her to teach. But we found her this week, when one of our lessons fell thorugh and we felt like we should pass by her house. SHes great and immmediatly asked us how she could get baptized! She has a baptismal date for september 3rd and were so excited to keep working with her. ANyways this sunday 3 less active members who weve been teaching for the last couple of weeks, who havent been to church in months, came to church!!!! We were so excited, the lord really has blessed us this week, and were looking forward to the miracles this week.

In my personal study this morining I found this scripture that I believe fits Ica very well. Its in 3Nefi12:45That ye may be the children of your Father who is in heaven;  for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good.

Yup and the sun did shine on all this week in Ica. The sun was hot and the nights were cold, but the labor of the Lord continued in full force. THis week was great in our area, mostly becauyse we were able to stay positive. I thiknk our positvity was summed up on sunday when we walked from 2pm to 7pm and kept on smiling and were able to contact alot of people.BUt we were able to see a good balance in our work this week, asmany of our investagators are now progressing! The lords work is moving quickly here in san isidro and it is a blessing to be a small part of it.

WEEK OF MIRACLES IN ICA!!!!!

Well well. This week was AMAZING!!!!!!! Really my companion and I still cant belive all the things that happened this week.

HERMANAS LAWRENCE Y MOSTERT EN LA HUACACHINA

WOW. This week was incredible. So many miracles I dont even know where to begin. On monday we were able to see the miracle of being in the right place at the right time. When the sister who was going to accompany us had an emergency at the last minute, we were left without any one to accomanpy us. The by chance we past a CRs house and asked if we could have a lesson at her house. So we invited our investigators Fernanda and Nelida to come. It was an amazing lesson and Fernanda accepted to be baptized! Then just by chance, one of the Crs friends walked by and said she had felt like she was just ment to stop by. So we taught her and shes great! Then on tuesday also visiting a less active sister we were able to find her frined sonia, who also just happened to be there. and shes amazing and accepted our invitation to be baptized. And wait theres more. Really to many miracles. On wednesday we visited nelida and fernanda again and asked them if they had prayed about the book of mormon. Nelida said there was one night where she was tired and felt prompted to read and pray. She said she just got the stongest feeling after that it was all true and this was the one true church. Then we asked Fernanda who said she had been in a catholic church that week and felt the impression she should pray and ask if the book of mormon was true. SO she did and something told her to get out of the cathedral that moment because the mormon church was the only true one! What a blessing really that God has let us be present in miraculous moments like these. Then on thursday during our service at an elderly womans house, her grandson came to talk to us wondering about the church. We taught him the resotraion and he accepted to be baptized too! Then on friday we street conacting a sister, katy from her window and were ableto find her too and have a lesson to teach her and her husband this week aswell. On Friday night on an intercambio with Hermana Perreyra we were also able to find Martin, the brother of a less active sister. He was great and accepted our invitaion to be baptised. Really and crazy miracle filled week. I testify the Lord prepares the way, and his work. He has blessed us greatly and we will continue working hard to see miracles and the fruits of our labors. 

thursdays peruvian independence day. SO happy birthday Peru. Fireworks go off every night, its crazy.

P=DAY EN LA HUACACHINA 

THE LAND OF THE ENDLESS SUN!!!! ICA

Greeting from ICA. Yes the sun as we speak is blazing outside.

Well this week was a genuine surprise. We were both excited to work hard and hit the ground running this new transfer but had to work thorugh a few difficulties. one that we were only in our area about 2 full days this week because of trainings and travel to Lima and back. But never the less we did all we could and relied on the lord when all our back ups to our back up plans fell thorugh. We were able to find two new investigators this week, Fausto, the husband of a less active sister weve been teaching. Hes great and has read the book of mormon before! Then we also found Flor, who is the sweetest ladY i think Ive ever met. She was reluctant to expect many of our inviations because of her catholic background, but when she offered the closing prayer The spirit was SO STRONG. We just stayed there in silence for a few moments because we knew she could feel it and we then asked her how she felt and she said she felt peace like none other. She recognized the spirit and I know that something is very special about her. 

This week with the little time we had in our area I was able to get to know San Isidro 2 a bit better. And may I add that its huge!! Also that the limit of our area is the sand dunes..isnt that crazy? SOmetimes were just walking in the hot sun during the day, right under the sand dunes and I really question if im still in Peru or if im in Egypt.
