FROM THE CITY TO THE DESERT, NOW IN ICA!!!!!!!!

Greetings from the south!

Thats right folks after 9 months in the capital, Lima, I have made my way down south to ICA! Ica is like a small city in the middle of the desert, 6 hours south of Lima. Its really pretty and theres sand dunes and an oasis smack in the middle. Im really excited, Especially because my new companion is the best as well. Shes Hna Lawrence from Wyoming, and this is her 2nd transfer, not that you could tell because she speaks great spanish and just talks with everyone. Im excited to see miracles with her here in San Isidro.

This past week in Jardin flew by, as we were able to find a bunch of new invesigators through street contacts. We went to the temple with recent converts too.  also many of our investigatores and less active members made it to sacrament meeting. We were able to find Salvadora and Carlos (a family) and Sandy, all because they told us they had been looking for some spiritual help and then we coincidently contacted them. I know it wasnt a coincidence, because there arent coincidences in the Lords work. I can testify that he puts people in our path that he prepares sometimes we just have to search and talk with everybody.

Well thats about it for now. Theres a mexican food restaurant here in Ica and were exctited to go! Love you all!

Happy Freedom day oh great nation! My companions and I are going to celebrate eating pizza, and baking good old patriotic cookies. Happy 4th of July to all!

Let me start by saying that the mission is just the best and I think everyday I see the great difference in myself. Before the mission, I wasnt that shy but I wouldnt ever imagine that Id be where I am now, talking with everyone. In particular Id like to share an experience we had this week. On the way home from the multizone conference we took the train. It was very full!! To the level that i had to literally push my companions in. Then when we got in, tightly packed like sardines, I heard something tell me ¨preach to them all¨, ofcourse first i thought this to be a little absurd. But i followed the prompting and did it. In aloud voice I introduced myself and my companions and explained who we were and our message of the restauration. It really was a marvelous experience, many didnt pay attention, but those who did I know felt something. 

This was another great week. We were able to recognize that sometimes we just have to be patient, and let people take their time. Conversion is a process. We were able to realize that two of our investigatores needed more time to strengthen their testimonies. THey told us and we realized it aswell. This week we continued working with our 15 less active families that the bishop has assigned us and continued contacting everyone! The spirit was very strong during this weeek and we were able to recognize how weve grown as a companionship.

JUNIO EN JARDIN!!!!!!!!!

MISIONEROS  ZONA SAN JUAN

This week in particular we focused as a companionship to be able to contact a lot more people in the steet, we had been contacting people before but we realized we could be talking with alot more people. It really was something that strengthened my testimony and helped me to remember that I truly dolove the gospel and want as many people as possible to come unto it! This week really got me thinking as well of the importance of being on time. Our investigator who has been progressing, Juliana, this sunday showed up about 15 mins late to sacrament meeting. Which made my companions and I said because she couldnt participàte of the sacrament. However it got me thinking about how we usually show up 10 to 15 mins late to our set appointments with her. If we cant arrive on time for an appointment with an investigator, how can we expect them to be on time? I realize to demononstrate the importance of being punctuals, we need to give the example first. So thats a goal for the week, be more on time! This week we were able to find 3 new investigators, Mayra (whose husband we have planned to find tonight), Marcial (the pareja of a MA CR), and Teodolio, the father or a street contact. They were all a miracle to find.

JARDIN!!!!!!!!

Hola familia and friends!

This was another great, yet chilly week. The sun came out around 3 time during the span of the whole week, and it was sprinkling every morning. The high humidity here makes it especially at night. 

This was another great week. We faced a few difficulties with our indicator of lessons with members though. We are in the process of determining who has really intent of the investigators we are teaching and finding, which has caused us to have to let go of a few investigators. This week though we were able to find Braudio and Milagros (who were going to find her husband and less active children this week), brother and sister at a less acitves families home. It really is a miracle, everytime we find a new investigator, and i realized this week the importance for thanking the lord for the small and big things we witness day to day.  This week we also saw the blessing and miracle, of juliana, our investigators whose working towards a baptismal date of July 9th, attend church with her 7 year old son. What was great too was the warm welcome all the members gave her as well. 

Anyways all else is going well, just wokring hard and thanking the Lord for all the miracles weve been able to see.

GOOOOOD MORNING familia and friends!

This week was awesome. I know it seems like I say that every week but its because the mission is just amazing every week. 

This was a great week. we were able to see many blessings as we were able to find 3 families this week! Comprising of Ivan and Isabel, Prisicilla and Rondald, and Andrea and Luis! Really such a blessing. This week was also great because after monday, the trio once again was all together prosylyting (previously because of her foot Hna Jara had to stay inside with members). We hit the ground runnning and work hard, especially focusing on finding and visiting less active members. 

MUY BIEN VESTIDAS PARA VER AL ELDER RASBAND

On thursday Elder Rasband, of the quorom of the 12 apostles came to Lima to visit us, Lima East mission and the LIma MTC! It was an amazing experience, even though it was weird to be in the CCM for the meeting, a year later then when I was there. It really was great and the spirit was incredibly strong the whole time. Elder Rasband and his wife, even shoke the hands of each one of the around 400 missionaries present!

BIRTHDAY WEEK IN JARDIN!!!

Dear familia and friends.

SU PASTEL DE CUMPEAÑOS

This week was my birthday and thank you to all the members, friends and family who made it so special. Also I ate alot of cake which was great. haha

This week was great as always. Though as is always the case the opposicion is always there to try to bring us down. BUt do not fear! The trio in Jardin proved this week that we are up for any challenge. The great challenge this week, was the our companion, Hermana Jara´s foot got exessively swolen to a point she was in alot of pain and could not walk. We were able, with the help of the members, and the guidance of the holy ghost able to find a ballance of taking her to the clinic, having members stay with her while she rested and also being able to work Hna Luna and I in our area. This is truly the lords work because how else would we have been able to have the time to do all of that? I know the Lord has blessed us and every day and challenge is for us to gain experience. Like now I know how to fit 3 missionaries and a wheelchair into a moto taxi! But i have learned alot this week on the side of patinence and excepting the will of the Lord. This week our investigator, Diana who was progressing and getting ready for her baptism mid june, told us that because of problems in her work she would be moving in the next few days to another district in Lima. I was sad becuase we had been able to see the great change that the gospel had broguht into her life, but I know the Lord needs her some where else. needless to say were going to send the missionaries to her new address ASAP! This week we were able to see the blessing of following the revelation given to our ward council by visiting many less active members they had asked us to visit. Through these visits we were able to find many nonmembers among them, Lizbet, Lourdes and Zeleika, who have been prepared to recieve the gospel. WHich has helped our area because many of our current investigators are not progressing.

THis thursday Elder Rasband´s coming to speak to all the Lima Missions!

EL TRIO DE MISIONERAS EN EL TEMPLO

 Buenos dias familia and friends!
Greeting from Jardin, San Juan de Miraflores. Yup thats right transfers are in and..... THE MIGHTY TRIO STAYS TOGETHER! wooo yeah were all really excited and surprised at the same time. It means we get another 6 weeks to work hard and dilligently togther.

Winter is almost upon us, and this week the sun came out in total about 4 hours. Yes the mighty fog is upon us (youd love it here pops). But I cant complain because summer was HOT. Its really nice weather and temperature. 

This week was great because we had the great opportunity as family history sisters to take recent converts to the temple to do baptisms to the dead. I really do love the temple and the spirit that can be felt there testifies that it truly is the house of God.

Anyways this is the last letter Ill write as a teenager because tommorow Im 20! Thank you everyone for all the love and support youve given me this past year in the mission. I love you all!
